PARISH COUNCIL -- Kilpeck Group Parish Council held its September meeting at Wormbridge School on September 3 when the plaque for the oak trees was viewed and councillors expressed their pleasure at its style and design. Many items of correspondence were dealt with, with a number being circulated for councillors' interest. The group parish council had applied to join the Lengthsman Scheme.The Vital Villages brochure had been circulated to the council but it would now be circulated to other organisations in the community. It was agreed the 'Memorial Trees' would be identified and named and a plan drawn up so that visitors could find their tree.
The clerk was instructed to write to the District Audit regarding an excessive audit fee. A Personnel Accident clause was added to the insurance policy and the clerk's salary for 2001-2002 was approved.The chairman and clerk would attend two days training at Cheltenham
Parish matters raised included a problem with trees at Trelough, and concern was expressed that footpaths were being re-opened without consultation and within 12miles of an infected area. Preliminary proposals for the Queen's Golden Jubilee were discussed.
Wormbridge School fete, which was held at Whitfield, raised in the region of £1,000. Councillor Morgan congratulated Mrs J Davies for the efforts she had made to keep Wormbridge School open. The next meeting is provisionally arranged for November 5.
