ALTHOUGH Dr Roy Massey retired from his post as Organist and Master of the Choristers at Hereford Cathedral in April, he is maintaining a busy schedule of recitals.
On Saturday September 15, he is returning to St Peter's Church, Lugwardine, to play the organ he designed in 1993 an on which he gave the opening recital. Since then, the organ has proved its versatility in the Organist and Friends recital series and delighted audiences with its beautiful sound and appearance.
Dr Massey's programme consists of attractive works, chosen both to please the listeners and to demonstrate the character of the organ. Composers represented include Bach, Handel, Buxtchude and Guilmant. The concert begins at 7.30pm and the admission price of £5 includes a glass of wine in the interval. The church is on the A438 (Ledbury) road, two miles from Hereford. All are welcome.
