Leominster people are preparing to celebrate the Millennium by 'saying it with flowers'.

And what the townspeople who will be taking part, including doctors, nurses, dentists and vets, cubs, scouts, brownies and guides, schoolchildren and teenagers, workers and pensioners, will be saying is what it's like to live in Leominster in the year 2000.

'Stories of the Millennium', which is taking place from June 22 to 25 in Leominster Priory, will bring together a special mixture of flowers in more than 40 eye-catching displays with words and photographs.

There will also be a chance for people to commemorate friends and relatives who died during the 20th century by buying a flower in their memory.

The bloom will form part of an arrangement and the name of the person to be remembered will be inscribed in a special book of remembrance which will also be on display.

There's a special preview evening on June 21 and other entertainment will be laid on during the festival, one aspect of which will be the Leominster Loop which will pass through the church at noon on Saturday, June 24.
