A LLANDRINDOD Wells nurse has been found guilty of professional misconduct at a Ludlow nursing home and issued with a formal caution by the governing body, following a hearing.
The Professional Conduct Committee of the United Kingdom Central Council for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Visiting (UKCC), found Lorna Mayley guilty of two charges of professional misconduct.
The offences took place between June and August, 1998, while Ms Mayley was employed as a registered mental nurse at Churchill House Residential and Nursing Home in Ludlow.
They involved one charge of the verbal abuse of two patients and a second charge of the verbal abuse of another patient.
The committee issued a formal caution against Ms Mayley's entry on the professional register. This remains on her record for five years and is automatically disclosed to employers throughout the United Kingdom.
UKCC director of Professional Conduct Liz McAnulty said: "The UKCC exists to protect the public by upholding professional standards. We take appropriate action to protect patients' interests and, given the facts, the issuing of a caution against Ms Mayley's name is the right way to ensure this protection."
