SENIOR officers are meeting in Ross-on-Wye next week to discuss possible regionalisation for the police service.
Superintendents from eight forces are gathering in the town on June 7 and 8, when this controversial issue will be debated.
The Superintendents' Assoc-iation, which represents the interests of 1,300 police managers in England and Wales, hopes to be at the forefront of national discussions when regionalisation becomes a Government priority.
Officers from Greater Manchester, South Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, West Mercia and North Wales will offer their thoughts on effective ways forward for the service.
If anyone would like to discuss this issue with a local superintendent, please contact Sarah Gibbons, communications manager, on 0118 984 4005, to make arrangements.
