THE A40/M50 corridor in south Herefordshire and the A49 running through Hereford have been identified as possible air-quality black spots.
A new report carried out by Herefordshire Council's environmental health and trading standards revealed that air-quality targets on these roads 'may not be met'.
In response, the council has initiated detailed air-quality monitoring for these areas and, after full public consultation, will be reporting to Government with its findings.
The report forms part of a series of local air-quality studies that local authorities are required to carry out.
Copies of the first and second stage surveys can be found in Herefordshire's public libraries and written comments can be made to the environmental health and trading standards service at the Bath Street offices, Bath Street, Hereford HR1 2ZF.
