HEREFORDSHIRE is a county of animal-lovers, if the response to a pensioner who cares for sick and injured animals is anything to go by.
The Hereford Times featured an appeal for donations and volunteers to help out Beryl Bayliss with her Athene Sanctuary.
The generous 'gifts' received were greatly appreciated by her and the ever-growing number of creatures sharing her Chartwell Road home.
Money and cat food was in abundance and one man provided a shed which, originally intended for birds of prey, has been taken over by recently-rescued ducklings.
