FESTIVAL - The villagers of Breinton intend to celebrate the Year 2000 in style. Over the weekend of June 17-18, there will be a two-day flower festival in St Michael's Church, with the theme of God's Rainbow, and a festival service on Sunday morning. Children's Saturday afternoon workshops, followed by a family evening with a pig roast and disco and Sunday's craft stalls and demonstrations, will be held in the newly-refurbished village hall. The Kings Acre Road section of the village has produced a quiz sheet to test residents and visitors. Several gardens are open on Breinton Common on Saturday, and the beautiful riverside gardens of Breinton House on Sunday. The final event on the evening of Sunday, June 18, will be a rare opportunity to hear the Hereford Cathedral lay clerks in concert in the church. Concert tickets are available by contacting 01432 278105.
