The council agreed to make improvements to the crash barriers but would keep a record of accidents as evidence if future action was necessary. The council examined plans for new Vodaphone masts. All councillors agreed to celebration bonfires continuing for New Year's Eve 2000.
EVERGREEN GREEN - There was a good turnout for the annual meeting of the Evergreen Club of Llangunllo. In the chairman's absence, the secretary gave the opening address. He said it had been a good year. Members enjoyed the coach trips and there had been more full-paying passengers, which helped club funds. Club funds, members heard, had made a profit over the year but had not regained the losses of the previous two years. Members would not have to pay any increase in subscription and the amount they paid for the bus fare remained the same. Coach trips were planned for Leominster, a drive round the Elan Valley dams with lunch at Llandrindod Wells, and full days at Aberystwyth at Hereford. The Leominster and Elan Valley trip would be on a Friday to take advantage of the markets. The next trip to the Elan Valley would be on Friday, June
