HEREFORD Swimming Club's Jo Greensmith smashed the Western Counties 200m butterfly record on her way to a gold at the Western District Championships at Millfield.
Greensmith, aged 13, finished in 2 mins 37.70 secs, which set her third national qualifying time of the year and knocked five seconds off the previous best 200m butterfly time in the championships.
Fourteen-year-old Adam Preece managed his first national qualifying time in the 200m butterfly and claimed silver, ahead of Nick Tully, who took bronze.
Tully went on to win his second bronze, this time in the 100m butterfly, while Matthew Ashcroft grabbed a silver medal in a close-run 12-years 100m butterfly.
