SCHOOLS in the county have an opportunity to raise money for their sports departments in an unusual way with the launch of a national ten-pin bowling tournament.
Over £3,000 in prize money is on offer for top teams in the Millennium National Schools Compe-tition, which is being run by the British Ten-Pin Bowling Association.
TGS Bowling in Hereford is hosting the county heats and the best two schools will go forward to the regional and then national stages.
Schools can enter teams within two age groups, under-11 and 11-under-15, and each tie will be decided over two games. The closing date for entries is July 31 and the Herefordshire heats will take place during November.
Further details are available from Mandy Miles at TGS Bowling on 01432 352500 or the TGS web-site at www.tgsbow-ling.co.uk.
