CORIN Hughes was again the top local runner in the Hereford Couriers' second 5km event of a three race series at Hereford Leisure Centre.
The Hereford and County AC man came home third in a time of 15 mins 52 secs, an improvement on his fifth position in the first race, behind winner Darren Hiscox (Bridgend AC), who finished in 14.48 for his second win of the series.
First woman was Amanda Allen, of Birchfield Harriers, who clocked a time of 16.54.
There were some commendable showings from Hereford AC under-15 competitors Matthew Warley, 17.33, Stuart Laycock, 17.42, and Stephen Oleksy, 17.59.
The first under-17 home was Hereford AC's Ben Cox in 18.32, while first under-17 lady was Natalie Rouse (Croft Ambrey) in 20.12.
The third and final race of the series is today, starting at 7.15pm.
