LEE Price's brilliant six-year-old pacer Bon Major thrilled the crowd at the third meeting under BHRC rules at the Leominster circuit, defying a 30-yard handicap to snatch victory on the line.
The popular gelding, a particular favourite of the crowd due to his brave performances, has recently suffered a setback in training, but proved he is back to his best on this, his seasonal debut.
The only downside of the gutsy run was that Wrekin Rock On, another crowd favourite looked as if he was about to score his first win for two seasons with Mark Pritchard before Bon Major collared him in the final strides.
However, the stable gained consolation when John Hansford's Herbie's BJ just held on with Shaun Gibbons in the mile and a quarter penalty-free race.
