Ledbury Town conceded two goals in the first 20 minutes of this Banks's Division One League Cup but were denied continually by the Wellington goalkeeper when they tried to hit back.
WELLINGTON 2, LEDBURY TOWN 1
A smaller crowd than anticipated gathered at Bromyard to see a well-contested final between the league runners-up, Wellington, versus the third-placed.
Ledbury started slowly and Cup holders Wellington took advantage to go into a 2-0 lead in the opening 20 minutes with goals from Peter Wallace.
Not until the 65th minute did Ledbury pull a goal back through Robbie Colwell but numerous efforts from Colwell and Duncan Preedy were saved by the keeper, a Nicky Welch effort just cleared the bar and Timmy Bullock shot wide.
LEDBURY Town is holding its presentation evening tomorrow (Saturday) at the clubhouse in New Street for the First Team, Reserves and Ladies side, starting at 8pm.
The club has enjoyed a successful season with the first team winning the HFA Charity Bowl, the reserves reached three semi-finals, winning the Ross A Cup, and Ledbury Ladies finished top of their division.
Some tickets available which include buffet, disco and comedian.
