DILWYN Young Farmers' Club retained the Herefordshire YFC county rally on Saturday with Welsh Newton and Ledbury challenging strongly to take second and third places.
The annual event returned to Lower Hope, Ullingswick, by kind permission of Mr and Mrs Clive Richards, and proved highly successful with some very keen competition between the 19 clubs. The Young Farmers competed in a wide range of traditional competitions as well as having a lot of fun taking part in the Pot Luck and Clowning contests. The evening dance was very successful with members attending from neighbouring counties.
Dilwyn collected 3,756 points, Welsh Newton 3,695 and Ledbury 3,589. Fourth was Teme Valley with 3,303 points, fifth Eardisley with 2,817 and sixth Pontrilas with 2,681.
