THE Saturday Caf, a popular series of lunchtime music sessions at the Courtyard in Hereford, will be carrying on into June. The Music Pool, the county's community music organisation, is promoting the informal sessions, which feature some of the best musical talent in the area.
On Saturday, June 3, Jon Watson entertains with his stomping barrelhouse blues and boogie piano playing and passionate vocals.
Saturday, June 10, sees the return of Kington's The Paradise Project, with a collection of sophisticated and sassy modern pop originals.
Combo Espresso make a welcome return on Saturday, June 17. Featuring local favourites Terry Evans (sax), Rab Handleigh (keys), John Cutler (drums) and Dennis Schiavon (bass), their set is a mix of jazz and easy listening classics, with an edge.
On Saturday, June 24, popular guitar/vocal/clarinet duo Martin Blake and Lisa Whelan present a varied selection of blues, jazz and folk-influenced material.
All sessions run from 12noon-2pm each Saturday, in the Courtyard's caf/bar area, and admission is free.
