HEREFORD'S ABC Cinema will be continuing to screen the sword-and-sand epic 'The Gladiator' starring New Zealander Russell Crowe and Oliver Reed for seven days from Friday. For younger cinema-goers, there's a treat lined up with Saturday and Sunday matinee showings of 'Tigger The Movie'.
The Coliseum Film Centre, Brecon, is showing the last screen appearance of the great Oliver Reed plus rising star Russell Crowe in 'Gladiator'. Also showing, except on Sunday, is 'Mission to Mars', starring Tim Robbins and Gary Sinise. On Sunday there's a chance to see the UK premiere of Ben Hopkins' directorial debut feature, 'Simon Magus'. The Courtyard Centre for the Arts is showing the remarkable 'American Psycho', a satire about the greedy individualism of the Reagan years, starring Christian Bale, from May 19-23.
Wyeside Arts Centre in Builth Wells is screening Ralph Fiennes and Julieanne Moore in the BAFTA-nominated 'The End of the Affair' tonight. On May 19, 20, 23, 24 and 25, see Michael Caine's Oscar-winning performance in 'The Cider House Rules', also starring Tobey Maguire. On May 21 and 22, Jim Broadbent, Allan Corduner and Timothy Spall bring the creation of Gilbert and Sullivan's masterpiece 'The Mikado' to life in 'Topsy Turvy', directed by Mike Leigh.
Kristin Scott Thomas, Sean Penn and Derek Jacobi star in 'Up at the Villa' at Malvern Theatres tonight. From May 19 to 25, see John Cusack and Cameron Diaz in 'Being John Malkovich'.
