Ledbury councillors look likely to have key positions when the make-up of the new Herefordshire Council is unveiled today (Friday).
The Lib Dems, Independents and Labour are set to run the council in a power-share, with the Tories having opted for an opposition role.
As leader of the Independent group, Much Marcle councillor, Don Rule, may well have a role to play when the new cabinet line-up is announced.
Coun Rule said this week: "I can't discuss the portfolios we will be given. It has been worked out, but not sanctioned."
Ledbury councillor Peter Harling is being touted for the honorary role of council chairman. Leadership of the council is expected to remain with Lib Dem Terry James.
