FOUR Ledbury women have done their bit to stamp out heart disease by working up a sweat for the British Heart Foundation.
Jean Rich, Julie Peckham, Zoe Trueman and Sarah Dearing, who all work at the Ledbury branch of Birmingham Midshires, raised more than £400, thanks to contributions from customers, families and friends.
Swapping smart suits for gym kits and swimming costumes, they ran, cycled and swam more than 20 miles in five hours in a sponsored fitness day at Ledbury Fitness Centre.
"Heart disease is the UK's biggest killer and we wanted to do our bit to beat it," said Zoe, a customer services manager. The cash will go the HeartBeat Campaign, a three-year initiative between Birmingham Midshires and the British Heart Foundation to raise £750,000.
