A MAN whose family was suffering from 'acute financial pressure' defrauded the DSS out of £1,016 over a period of three months.
Timothy Norman had received Income Support claiming that both he and his wife were unemployed, even though she had a job in a nursing home.
The 30-year-old father of three, of Park Road, Kington, pleaded guilty to false representation at Hereford Magistrates Court. He was fined £200 and ordered to pay £200 costs.
His wife's job was said to have been on a 'casual' basis.
