A CHARITY bike ride with a difference will be heading through Leominster on Sunday.
Employees from Europe's largest privately-owned mobile phone company, The Caudwell Group, will be on an epic journey from Land's End to John O'Groats as they seek to raise £200,000 for the NSPCC.
The eight cyclists plan to cover the 955 miles in 10 days and each has raised £2,000 in sponsorship. They are now looking for support from Leominster people and companies to reach the £200,000 mark for their 'Raise the Roof' campaign, an appeal which was launched in July 1999 to fund a Caudwell Charity building in Stoke-on-Trent to house a children's charity, permanently and free from rent.
"Caudwell Group employees have greeted the 'Raise the Roof' campaign with a consistent level of enthusiasm and I am positive that with the help of the people of Leominster this event will be very successful," said chairman and chief executive John Caudwell, who is leading the cyclists.
