AFTER the disappointment of having their first League game cancelled on the Saturday, Ledbury gave most of the first team their first game of the season away at Huntley on Sunday.
Huntley won the toss and chose to bat but were soon in trouble as Mark Pritchett claimed two early wickets along with another from Steve Evans to leave the home side reeling at 4 for 3.
M Abbot threatened a fight back but when Rich Punt dismissed him for 21 Huntley were always struggling with the Ledbury bowlers claiming wickets regularly. The wickets were shared amongst the bowlers as Huntley were bowled out for 111 in the 33rd over.
Maurice Embrey and Stu Evans got off to a confident start and soon the score began to race along.
The score had reached 80 when Embrey was bowled by K Abbot for 37, Evans soon followed him back to the pavilion for 43.
It was left to Dan Baker (19no) with some typical lusty blows and Steve Large (4no) to see Ledbury to victory in the 24th over for a confident win by eight wickets.
Tomorrow (Saturday) Ledbury have a home league game against Leominster.
