ONE of 'man's best friends' has had its sight threatened by a blow to the head.
A scar on the abandoned five-week-old puppy is thought to be a clue as to why it is blind in one eye and has limited vision in the other.
It is being cared for by Joyce Falconer on behalf of Hereford Animal Aid who are hoping for donations for the costly operation on the eye which has exploded.
The puppy has been named 'Henry' and is possibly a Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross.
Carer Joyce said that in her two years of taking in strays from Animal Aid, this was the worst case.
"The vet said Henry was not born blind. At some point in a short life, the pup has been struck," she said.
Anyone wanting to make a donation should contact Barbara at Hereford Animal Aid on 01432 272023 or Ida on 01432 830532.
