Bromyard residents have been asked to keep an eye out for two sets of 'bogus' con artists.
The first group, made up of women and children, are said to be using British Heart Foundation charity bags to collect clothes and unwanted items for their own use.
They have been seen using a 'shabby, rusty' pale blue van.
In a more sinister development, three white men in their 20s or 30s have been allegedly calling at houses in the Bromyard area claiming to be health inspectors.
In each case they asked for entry to the house saying they were 'looking for rats' but were unable to produce identification.
