THE retirement of MP Richard Livsey at the next general election has brought forward four experienced campaigners to represent the Brecon and Radnorshire Liberal Democrats.
The shortlist for the selection of the party's prospective parliamentary candidate includes Rob Humphreys, Dan Munford, Roger Williams and Alison Willott.
Rob, who is deputy president of the Welsh Liberal Democrats, was brought up on the family farm in Powys and lectures in Welsh history and politics at the University of Swansea.
Powys county councillor Dan, of Montgomeryshire, was involved in the successful 'secure a future for community hospitals' campaign.
Roger represents Llangorse on Powys County Council and was part of the successful campaign to keep the county's health trust. He farms at Tredomen.
Trained teacher and former professional singer Alison, who lives near Abergavenny, is chair of finance for the Welsh Liberal Democrats. She has worked for the Foreign Office and the Department of Transport.
