THE first Farmers' Market in Hereford is to go-ahead next month, partly in High Town and partly in the city's butter market.
Officials were meeting this week to finalise arrangements but it has been agreed that the market will be held on Thursday, June 15, and every third Thursday in the month.
Diana Palmer, the Food Link co-ordinator for county markets, said arrangements regarding access of vehicles and the start times were to be finalised. "I think the market is an ideal location because it will attract so many people and, hopefully, give a fillip to the butter market," she said.
"We are keen to hear from producers wishing to sell who have not heard from us. The market is a fun way to buy and a lot of producers find it fun because of the human contact." Other county markets were building up, she added.
