CARING Jessica Bumfrey needs cash to continue creating chances for sick children, writes BILL TANNER.
Jessica, from Hereford, is banking on £1,500 to help her assist Romanian youngsters scarred by sad circumstances.
The sum will allow Jessica to stay in the strife-stricken nation for a year, building on the good work she began back in 1998.
Care assistant Jessica is one of team that transformed the lives of tots trapped in a psychiatric hospital.
The centre needed an urgent injection of TLC - staff were under qualified, while medication and clothes were in short supply.
Jessica and her colleagues have since shown the way to make things better, their play therapy scheme has proved particularly effective.
But so far its all been done in short term spells. She needs a full year among her charges to really make a difference.
Jessica has plans for a series of fun fundraising schemes to help pay the way, but they'll have to be supported by sponsors.
