CONGRATULATIONS - John Speke, Robert Harper, Daniel Cornes and David Laird were all in the Under 13 football team which won the final of the Brederoes Cup 3-1. The match was played in atrocious conditions, but thoroughly enjoyed by all involved.
THANKS - The Oral History Group thank Leslie Evans and Bob Morris for going to speak to them in the village hall recently. Leslie was an eye witness to a plane that crashed in 1944 in Eardisland, and Bob had details of the plane, and explained how he and the members of his group undertake archaeological work to uncover them. He provided important information about procedures, as well as fascinating details of his own experiences. Members of the Eardisland Archaeological Group were also present and were most appreciative of the information provided.
RESEARCH -On the back of an old tithe map recently uncovered (showing the central area of Eardisland) is the name Percy Ellis, of Lincolnshire. If anyone has any details about him, Paul Selfe on 01544 388 571, would be pleased to receive them.
