TOP OF POLL - Two former town mayors tied closely for top of the poll position when the results of the first Kington Town Council election for many years were declared. Top spot was taken by David Walters, with a tally of 673 - just one vote more than runner-up Artie Attwood, who was ahead of third-placed Tom Bounds by 80 votes. Ex-mayor and sitting members, Robert Simcock, was related to 18th place by the voters and, therefore, deprived of his seat.
