JAMES Brinkley and John Shaw will make their debuts for Herefordshire when they open their ECB 38 County Cup matches against Shropshire at Shrewsbury this Sunday.
The tournament is split into eight groups, played on a round-robin basis, and the county come up against the Shropshire, Wales, Warwick-shire and Worcestershire boards in Group 4.
Brinkley, a former Worcestershire seam bowler, was in fine form for Scotland against Wiltshire in the NatWest Trophy.
Although Scotland were well beaten, Brinkley took 2-13 in his maximum 10 overs.
Shaw, an all-rounder who can bowl spin or seam, plays his club cricket in Nottingham and made a half-century and took four wickets last weekend.
The match starts at 11am and has been switched from St George's to Shrewsbury.
