Westfields 1 Pershore Town 0
WESTFIELDS brought the final curtain down on their Rotherwas ground with a victory and earned a place in the semi-finals of the Robert Biggart Memorial Trophy.
Higher-graded Pershore, from the Midland Alliance, were shot down by a goal from stand-in striker John Hutton, who was deputising for the injured top scorer Derek Craddock.
Hutton struck after just 12 minutes when he seized on a loose ball after teenager Jack Gwillim had fired in a low cross. Pershore recovered well but were kept out by Jon Pugh, who was on top form in the home goal.
l Meanwhile, the city side had their Premier Division status in the Banks's Brewery West Midlands League confirmed, thanks to a 1-1 draw for nearest rivals Walsall Wood against Ludlow Town.
Walsall Wood had needed a 12-goal win to avoid relegation and their result means Westfields finish third from bottom - one place and two points above the drop zone.
