UNDER the direction of conductor Nick Spencer, the Halcyon Singers are establishing a reputation for performing unusual (and often demanding) works.
Recent successes have included performances of Palastrina's Stabat Mater, Durufle's Requiem and Vaughan William's 'An Oxford Elegy'.
Their next major concert will be held on October 7 in St Andrew's Church, Presteigne, when the programme will include two exciting works by Constant Lambert - his 'Rio Grande' and his Piano Concerto, both featuring London based concert pianist John Wood.
At 7.30pm on May 12 at Knill Court, Presteigne, this friendly choir is hosting an evening of madrigals. Interested singers are warmly welcomed to join them.
There are a few spaces for lower voices in the choir and for further information contact Nick Spencer (evenings) on 01568 780769.
