A WARTIME garden shrunk to the size of a table top is among the Herefordshire exhibits that will be on display at a WI craft spectacular in Cheshire next month.

Complete with Anderson shelter and vegetable plot, it is the work of mother and daughter, Ann Wood, of Eardisley, and Liz Connors.

The event, at Tatton Park, runs from May 17 until May 21 and is open to members and public alike. It comes under the 'Pathways to the 21st Century' initiative, part of the WI's commitment to the world-wide sustainable development programme, Agenda 21.

The Herefordshire Federation held its own craft exhibition at Weobley last August and it was there that the National Federation of Women's Institutes selectors chose the best in show.

Other county exhibitors are Jenny Davidson of Colwall WI, who has entered a batik picture of a cockerel; Pam Gibbs of Withington, a collar; Jill Hollingsworth, of Bodenham, two quilts; and Kath Morgan of Eardisland, a silk patchwork cushion and box.
