Pegasus Juniors 1 North Leigh 2

PEGASUS suffered their second successive defeat in the Hellenic League Premier Division on Monday after two costly defensive errors in their 'home' fixture at North Leigh.

They took the lead on 15 minutes when Mark Davies headed into the top corner past stranded keeper Ally Jarvis after Alex Hunt had nodded back a corner from Daniel Rocke.

Justin Timms levelled after the break when the ball deceived Terry Green and Craig Pearman crossed for Timms to score with a simple header.

The North Leigh winner came 10 minutes later after a clearance by Pegasus keeper Kingsley Morris went straight to Gary Wright and his pass to Timms allowed a tap into an unguarded net.

l Previously the city club went down 4-2 at Carterton Town after going three goals behind in soggy conditions.

Anaclet Odhiambo opened the scoring from 10 yards when he reacted first after Kingsley Morris spilled a skidding 20-yard shot from Andy Henry.

Henry doubled the advantage when he collected a Rory Smith clearance and easily beat Morris from the edge of the area.

Phil Rodney blasted a Carterton penalty high and wide shortly after half-time but the home side soon went further ahead when a Morris kick was collected and despatched by Odhiambo.

Jon Hill pulled one back with his first goal of the season but when Smith brought down Odhiambo the striker picked himself up to compete his hat-trick from the penalty spot.

And it meant that Alex Hunt's header from a corner in the dying minutes was no more than a consolation.
