MORE than 80 local young people will be flying the flag for Herefordshire in the capital's newest tourist attraction, writes CATHERINE SHOVLIN.

Pupils from the Ledbury partnership of schools and the town's Community Choir will be singing, dancing and acting in front of the throng of visitors to the Millennium Dome on May 22.

Coaches have been booked to encourage the county's residents to support the children on their big day and take the opportunity to see the Greenwich exhibition before it closes.

Ledbury was chosen to put on the specially commissioned production because it was seen as one of the 'classic' county market towns.

The three 20-minute shows will be staged in a 600-seater theatre as part of the McDonald's sponsored Our Town Stories project.

Artwork depicting life in the county by pupils from the schools involved in the exhibition will be displayed outside the theatre area, along with information from the Herefordshire Tourist Office.

Ledbury Town Council and Visions Marketing and Promotions have organised tickets and coaches to give everyone in the county the chance to enjoy Herefordshire's day of glory in the London landmark, costing £30 for adults and £25 for children and senior citizens.

Coaches will leave from outside the town's market at 6.30am and will return at approximately 10pm. To book a place visit the Ledbury Town Council office or Barclays Bank in Ledbury or phone 01885 483964 by May 1.

Visitors will be able to explore all of the 14 zones, as well as seeing the youngsters take centre stage.
