TITLE-CHASING Bromyard Town were quicker to the ball during the opening minutes of this Banks's Brewery Division One (South) local derby needing to win to maintain their challenge.

Ledbury TOWN 0, BROMYARD TOWN 3

Bromyard's Chris Jefferson had two early chances having a mistimed effort easily saved and then chipping over the bar.

The visitors took the lead in the 12th minute when their former goalkeeper Martin Cole failed to collect a corner kick and Dean Davis was able to force the ball home.

Ledbury hit back and Robbie Colwell ended a strong run with a powerful cross but nobody could apply a finishing touch before Duncan Preedy flashed a shot across the face of the goal.

Bromyard keeper Hopkins then punched a clearance that fell to Mark Herbert but his rising shot cleared the bar before the keeper collected a Preedy free kick.

The home side were making more of a game of it now and Colwell turned well on the edge of the box but shot over and keeper Hopkins saved at Colwell's feet after a good through ball from Preedy.

Bromyard's Andy Kingston then missed a good opportunity to put his side two up just before the interval.

In the second half Ledbury pushed hard for an equaliser but could not break down the Bromyard defence.

Kicking up the slope the visitors broke away on the right and a mix-up in the home defence let in striker Jefferson to make it 2-0.

In the 70th minute a clumsy tackle by Pete Brown on Jefferson saw Ledbury reduced to ten men and ten minutes from time Bromyard put the result beyond doubt when Jefferson scored an individual goal.
