WEST Bromwich Albion Ladies were in no mood to surrender and forced Ledbury Ladies to battle all the way, in a tightly compressed match.

WEST BROMWICH ALBION 0, LEDBURY LADIES 2

For most of the match it was end to end, but the experience and fitness of Ledbury proved the winning factor. In the 25th minute a through ball beating the offside trap, gave Ledbury the lead when Eve Greenhouse beat the advancing keeper to side foot it into an empty net.

WBA then counter-attacked and only a fine save from Anna Price in Ledbury's goal prevented an equaliser.

The second half was just as strongly contested, but Ledbury contained everything that a youthful WBA could throw at them.

Ledbury's own young player, Hayley Presley then showed how it should be done when she broke free of her marker and, despite loosing her boot, scored a fine goal past the advancing keeper.

Ledbury now need three more points to take the League title.

Ledbury's Denise Markham won the Player of the Match award.
