FOUR Herefordshire artists will hold an exhibition of their work at St David's Hall on Castle Street, Hereford, from Tuesday, July 19-30.
Mike Purkiss, from Ledbury, has been painting since his retirement six years ago.
His self-taught style can be best described as impressionistic, with the use of vibrant colours and strong tonal contrasts.
John Peal, from Wormbridge, works in watercolour and oils and aims to capture the natural beauty of his subjects.
He has travelled extensively, and is largely self-taught, though he has attended occasional art classes.
Martin Richards, of Marden, took up painting when he moved to Herefordshire three years ago.
Using pastels, watercolour, charcoal and acrylics he tackles a variety of subjects, often based on, or influenced by, drawings and sketches made on site in Wales and holidays abroad.
Joanna Dixon, from Pencombe, trained at Malvern Art College, becoming a serious watercolourist in the early 1980s.
Group of Four will be open daily from 10am to 5.30pm.
