HEREFORDSHIRE representatives Kingsland and Ashperton found the going tough when Herefordshire hosted the regional finals of the National Kwik Cricket Championship for the first time at Colwall.
Kingsland won two of their five matches but Ashperton were left winless against strong opposition.
"Both of our sides acquitted themselves well as the standard was particularly high," said Herefordshire cricket development officer Steve Williams.
"All of the other sides taking part had previously been to national finals."
Bentley Heath from Warwickshire won all of their five games to take the regional title and they will be joined by Newport from Shropshire at the national competition finals at Trent Bridge, Nottingham on July 21.
