DAVE Thomas received Hereford Rugby Club's Clubman of the Year award at their dinner-dance at TGS.
Chairman Guy Griffiths thanked him for his wholehearted commitment to the club, saying nothing was too much trouble for him and he never refused when asked to undertake a task.
The player of the season award went to Billy Grisman, who was elected club captain at the recent annual meeting. Adam Knight received the most improved player award and Colin Preece the commitment to the 1st XV award. Club president Graham Archer made the presentations.
The president commented on the fine spirit in the club and said how delighted he was that so much talent was coming through the thriving junior section into the senior teams.
Last season the club reached the quarter-finals of the Powergen Trophy and the North Midlands Cup and they were unfortunate in just missing out on promotion.
Training for the forthcoming season has already started and will be enhanced by the installation of new floodlights on the second team pitch.
