OLIVER Hales won the Bishop's School individual table tennis championship for the fourth time in succession in his last year at the Hereford school.
Ninety-six pupils took part in the championship and Hales was also part of the Bishop's team who won Division 3 of the Hereford League. He was the second-best player in the division and his team-mates were Tom Browning and Alex Reilly, now at the Sixth Form College.
The trio played as a team with Josh Price (Whitecross School) for Herefordshire in the national junior league in Birmingham and finished in fourth spot.
Will Hawley, a contender for next year's school crown, led a team, which included Greg Davenport, to victory in the Herefordshire two-player league.
Emily Hales beat off a strong challenge from Lucy Thomas to win the Bishop's girls championship, while year-title winners were Matt Leak, Greg Davenport and Wilson Kung jnr.
The Bishop's club is run after school on Thursday evenings by head coach Steve Watkins, PE head teacher Steve Bradley and assistant coach Steve Turner.
The evening club is open to anyone and more information is available from Steve Watkins on 07970 952364.
