Hereford Rowing Club had a very successful outing to the Henley Veterans Regatta held over 1,000 metres of the famous Royal Regatta course.
This is an internationally recognised regatta with competitors from all around the world.
Hereford entered eight events and featured in the finals of four, resulting in two gold medals.
In the men's H double sculls, Ben Bentley-Leek and Hugh Davis overcame opposition from Marin Rowing Associa-tion USA and Bewl Bridge to comfortably win their event.
In the women's B coxed fours the crew of Sharon Colley, Angie Whitehead, Alex Look, Helen Phillips and cox Robin Morris beat Marlow to reach the final against Agecroft. In a nail-biting race, the Hereford crew rowed through their opposition from behind to win by two thirds of a length.
The men's B coxed four of Jed Greenhouse and Adey Whitehead teamed up with Robin Fletcher, Phil Davis and cox Rhiannon Jones from Ross, beating Worcester and Christchurch to reach the final, only to be beaten by a strong crew of ex-Cambridge Blues from Crabtree.
In the men's C coxless fours Rod Phillips, Keith Lawrence, Richard Bissell and Phil Hart had a tough final and were denied victory by half a length to Star Club of Bedford.
n Hereford had a successful weekend at Llandaff Regatta held on the River Taff in Cardiff.
On the Saturday over the 1,000-metre course, the men's senior 3 eight of Ben Guy, Lee Champ, Alec Rumball, Russell Williams, Andy Osbourne, Tom Probert, Ollie Tomlinson and Andy Moxon, coxed by Lucy Edwards, beat Llandaff A crew by one length to reach the final where they beat Bristol Ariel by length.
This resulted in Champ, Rumball and Williams being promoted to senior 4.
In the men's senior 4 coxed fours Russell Williams, Andy Osbourne, Tom Probert and Ollie Tomlinson, coxed by Lucy Edwards, beat Llandaff easily in the first round, Bristol Ariel by 1 lengths in the semi-finals and Gloucester by length in the final.
On the Sunday over the 500-metre sprint course competing in the men's senior 3 coxed fours, Lee Champ, Andy Osbourne, Tom Probert and Ollie Tomlinson, coxed by Zoe Morris, beat Ironbridge by length and then Bristol Ariel by 1 lengths in the final.
Steph Bissell had her second win of the year competing in the women's junior 14 single sculls where she beat Llandaff in the first round and then Monmouth Comp-rehensive in the final.
n Hereford crews gained entry through the qualifying races for Henley Royal Regatta.
Jonathon Greenhouse (sculling in the Fawley cup in a Monmouth-Wycliffe-Hereford composite) impressively beat Merchant Taylor's School in his first round race before going out to a fancied Australian crew from the University of Sydney by 2 lengths.
In the Wyfold coxless fours Andrew Moxon, Les Morris, Ali Campbell and Christian Jones were unfortunate to draw the favourites and eventual event winners Army in the first round and lost by 1 lengths.
In the Britannia Cup for coxed fours, Rob Francis, Jed Green-house, Pat Griffiths and Ollie Partridge, coxed by Becky Young, impressively eased through their first round against London club Molesey.
In their second round they drew unknown Irish crew Athlunkard and lost by 1 lengths in a close race.
