ANDY TRETTON (5): (defender, 9-10-1976, 6'1", 63+1/2) It's now easy to speculate, but on figures alone it seems likely that if Tretton had stayed fit last season, United would have won the Conference by a street. Calm and unobtrusive at the back, Tretton figured on a winning side in 19 of the 22 Conference games he played in, losing just twice, with one of those defeats, at Burton, in the match in which he sustained the injury which would keep him out for five months. Tretton, who began his career with Derby County before moving on to Shrewsbury Town, will be looking to erase the awful memory of his exceptionally harsh and costly dismissal in the play-off semi-final second leg against Aldershot.
