TONY JAMES (6): (defender, 9-10-1978, 5'11", 253+7/16) At the age of 25, the United skipper has become that rarest of things in the fast-moving world of contemporary football, a long-serving player. As he begins his seventh season with the Bulls, James is widely renowned as one of the Conference's top performers - and its top defender according to former Barnet manager Peter Shreeves. It's a mystery that no league club has taken a chance on a player whose displays last season merited, as much as anyone else, the chance to play in Coca Cola League Two this time around. In addition to his defensive duties, former West Bromwich Albion trainee James has also become a reliable performer from the penalty spot with nine successes from 10 last term.
