Bromyard seconds went down to a disappointing seven-wicket loss at Hagley Hall.
HAGLEY II v BROMYARD II
Batting first, Bromyard were given a sound platform by openers Jeff Bayliss (23) and Chris Simmonds (22). Dave Benbow made 17, but only Owen Thomas, with 71 including four 6s, of the rest of the top-order was able to construct a substantial innings.
Mike Reece made a valuable 18no, including a huge six, which struck the church behind the ground, but Bromyard's total of 201 all out was a little under-par on a flat wicket in warm conditions.
In reply, Dave Harris grabbed two early wickets to leave Hagley 22-2 but first teamer D Morgan, playing for the seconds after suffering concussion the previous week, made 35no, and veteran N Allport, with a destructive 112, including four 6s, saw Hagley home with three wickets down. Dave Harris finished with 3-50.
Bromyard picked up five points to lift them off the bottom of the league, one point clear of basement side Cookley.
