A 1960's Herefordshire church is set to change from being a house of God to a home.

Planners have given the go-ahead for the conversion of the Roman Catholic Our Lady of Lisieux Church at Symonds Yat.

The church was built in the early 1960s in Whitchurch and approval was first given to the change of use in March this year, subject to a number of conditions that have now been incorporated in revised plans.

Support for the project was given by the local parish council but there were two objections from people in the area concerned about the erosion of privacy for people living in the nearby post office and clock tower.

But planning officers said discussions were being held to address these concerns through measures such as the use of obscure glazing.
