A FORMER international boss with Microsoft has swapped his hot seat with the computer and software giant to lead the Prince's Trust in Herefordshire.

John Leftwich, from Rochford, near Tenbury Wells has been appointed chairman of the Prince's Trust in Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

He has been a volunteer member of the Trust for four years .

Last September, Mr Leftwich received the accolade as "Volunteer of the Year" in recognition of his work in the West Midlands.

The Prince's Trust was founded by 1976 by the Prince of Wales and works to help people aged between 14 and 30 years to overcome difficulties and make the best of their lives.

Mr Leftwich is a former corporate vice-president of Microsoft responsible for sales and marketing in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He helps mentor young people and is a charity fund-raiser.
