CONTROVERSY raged over plans - now shelved - to convert a former Leominster church into a snooker hall but another project is giving historic Brook Hall a new lease of life.
It has proved to be "perfect" for the new Hickory House Nursery says organiser Diana Franzen, two of whose four children attend it.
Mayor Roger Hunt will open the nursery's Open Day on Saturday at noon.
Mrs Franzen, who is renting the Broad Street building from its Ross-on-Wye owner, said: "A lot of people are still under the impression Brook Hall is to be a snooker hall.
"It isn't and people are welcome to come and look around and see what is really going on."
