FREE-scoring Hereford United will strive to keep the momentum going when they head to relegated Cambridge United tonight (8.05).

The Bulls made an incredible start to the Nationwide Conference season on Saturday with a 4-0 thrashing of Scarborough at Edgar Street.

It rocketed Graham Turner's side -- favourites to land the championship prior to the 2005/06 campaign -- to top spot and sent a shuddering message to their title rivals.

And United can issue another warning if they dish out similar treatment to Cambridge in tonight's Sky-televised clash at the Abbey Stadium.

It is the first home Conference fixture for the cash-strapped U's, who lost their Football League status for the first time in 35 years when finishing rock-bottom of League Two last season.

"Cambridge are a club who have been in dire financial straits and just seem to be sorting themselves out," said Turner.

United made a disappointing start to their campaign on Saturday when Forest Green Rovers, one of the league's weaker sides, held on for a home 1-0 win.

Rob Newman's side were on top for large periods of the first-half, but they paid the price for failing to capitalise on their superiority when Scott Rendell headed Rovers' winner.

Turner is likely to make limited changes to his winning team.

Six of Hereford's summer signings made their full competitive debuts against Scarborough and will not enjoy many better.

The Bulls were forced to wait 64 minutes until they broke the deadlock, with former Gillingham defender Dean Beckwith scoring the first. The floodgates then opened as Guy Ipoua, Ryan Green and Danny Carey-Bertram completed the rout with late strikes.
