THERE was a large entry for the 27th annual Leominster Junior Tennis Tournament, which took place at Bridge Street Sports Centre and the Minister College courts.

The tournament was proved successful and there were for local children in all the age groups.

Organisers Jill Busby and Jenny Ellerton said that a good atmosphere was helped by wonderful weather, high quality play, and supportive families.

Girls U-18 Singles: Natalie Powell bt Joanne Sedgewick 6-2, 6-0.

Girls U-14 Singles: Emily Kemp bt Anthea Powell 6-1.

Girls U-12 Singles: Katie Trounson bt Rene Johnson 6-2, 6-0.
